Zhuhai Inball Electric Co., Ltd., a leading supplier of automotive inverters in China, took the lead in introducing the latest 750 V automotive-grade IGBTs from Infineon Technologies AG, including AIKQ120N75CP2 and AIKQ200N75CP2 two models. This discrete IGBT EDT2 device in the TO-247PLUS package can improve the performance of EV main inverter and DC link discharge switch and save system cost. In addition to this, they provide designers with greater freedom and facilitate system integration.
Dr. Robert Hermann, Head of the Automotive High Power Discretes and Chips Product Line at Infineon Technologies, said: "We are delighted that we have been able to work closely and successfully with Inball. This project further highlights Infineon's expertise in inverters Advantageous position in the field of application. We can use our technical expertise and understanding of the system to bring to the market innovative solutions that perfectly meet the needs of our customers.”
EDT2 technology has been successfully introduced to the market and set a new industry benchmark. It is packaged in TO247 and is optimized for discrete automotive traction inverters. Discrete EDT2 IGBTs are typically rated at 120 A or 200 A when operating at 100°C.
In addition to this, 750 V EDT2 technology enables high-performance system designs. The AIKQ200N75CP2, with a rated current of 200 A, stands out among the discrete IGBT products in the TO247Plus package. As a result, only a small number of parallel devices are required to achieve a given target power level, while increasing power density and reducing system cost. With their outstanding quality, Infineon IGBTs are an essential part of a reliable inverter system.
