Nexperia, a high throughput manufacturing specialist in basic semiconductor devices, today announced the expansion of its portfolio of ultra-low clamp and ultra-low capacitance ESD protection diodes. The portfolio is designed to protect high-speed data lines such as USB 3.2, HDMI 2.0, LVDS, automotive A/V monitors, displays and cameras. In addition, the portfolio is designed to address future high speed video links as well as Open Technology Alliance MGbit Ethernet applications.
The emerging products include the 2-pin single-wire devices PESD5V0C1BLS-Q and PESD5V0C1ULS-Q in the ultra-compact DFN1006BD-2 package, while optimizing wiring flexibility. Two 3-pin differential line devices, PESD5V0C2UM and PESD5V0C2UM-Q, are also available in the DFN1006-3 package. all versions are available in a pinless package for improved electrical performance and signal integrity.
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) voltage clamp diodes play a critical role in protecting data interfaces in automotive subsystems from damage. More notably, they do not compromise data signal integrity or negatively impact the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) performance of the systems they protect. Nexperia's long-standing expertise in designing ESD protection solutions that achieve ultra-low device capacitance (down to 0.3 pF) enables these diodes to deliver outstanding signal integrity performance. To maximize design flexibility, these diodes are available in both a two-wire DFN1006-3 and a single-wire DFN1006BD-2 package. The latter package has solderable sides and allows for automatic optical inspection (AOI).
