In terms of performance, the PM9E1 is outstanding. Its sequential read and write speeds are as high as 14.5GB/s and 13GB/s respectively, almost fully utilizing the bandwidth of PCIe 5.0 x4. In comparison, in the previous-generation PM9A1 released in April 2021, the maximum read and write speeds are only 7GB/s and 5.2GB/s. The former is more than doubled, and the latter is nearly tripled.

Samsung Electronics recently announced that it has started mass production of the PM9E1, an SSD product that adopts PCIe 5.0 technology. This product has large capacity and strong performance and is one of the fastest SSDs on the market currently. The PM9E1 uses Samsung's self-developed 5nm process main control solution and is paired with eighth-generation V-NAND flash memory. There are multiple capacities to choose from, including 512GB, 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB.

In addition, the lifespan of the PM9E1 has also been extended, with the maximum write volume reaching 2400TBW. Although PCIe 5.0 SSDs generally have high power consumption and heat generation, Samsung claims that the energy efficiency of the PM9E1 is 50% higher than that of the previous-generation product. Overall, the Samsung PM9E1 has won the favor of consumers with its excellent performance and high-efficiency energy efficiency.
