Infineon Technologies AG today announced the new TEGRION™ series of safety controllers, Infineon's broadest 28 nm safety controller portfolio to date. This series of safety controllers integrates the new Integrity Guard 32 security architecture, combined with an advanced Arm® v8-M Instruction Set Architecture, to greatly improve the performance of semiconductor devices.

Ioannis Kabitoglou, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Digital Security and Authentication Product Line at Infineon Technologies, said: "The TEGRION™ series of security controllers is the most powerful security controller family Infineon has ever launched. Infineon's long-term investment in the research and development of the TEGRION™ series of security controllers, until the current product launch, further demonstrates the company's long-term commitment to the security market. Based on the positive feedback from customers, we believe that the TEGRION™ series of security controllers can meet the needs of current and future security applications."
TEGRION™ adopts Infineon's unique Integrity Guard 32 hardware security architecture, which greatly simplifies the difficulty of application development. Customers can develop and design security applications for specific security conditions that are compatible with current application scenarios and take into account the sustainable development of various future interconnected application scenarios. Integrity Guard 32 can achieve a higher level of security without compromising performance and reliability. It takes a holistic and comprehensive approach, integrating the system's processing core, on-chip memory, bus, cache, coprocessor, and peripheral interfaces into a comprehensive and comprehensive security architecture. While the energy-efficient cryptographic accelerator provides protection for encryption operations such as fast encryption and digital signatures of data, it will also protect the overall hardware system from side-channel attacks, fault sensing, and physical attacks. Integrity Guard 32 breaks through the limitations of traditional hardware security boundaries and reduces the total cost of ownership throughout the product lifecycle. It can effectively reduce developers' workload in developing protection measures at the software level, making overall application development simpler.
The first product of the new series of security controllers, the SLC26P, was released in November 2022 and has already received EMVCo certification for the payment industry. In the past six months, the product has rapidly reached mass production driven by customer demand. As the first implementation plan for the TEGRION™ series of security controllers, the SECORA™ Pay payment solution has demonstrated industry-leading contactless and personalized performance. According to the latest MasterCard 2023 Performance Guide, payment cards with SECORA™ Pay security solution can complete contactless payments in 155ms, almost half the expected transaction time (no more than 300ms).
