STMicroelectronics Introduced STM32WB1MMC Bluetooth® LE Certified Module Simplifies and Accelerated Wireless Product Development

        ST's new STM32 Bluetooth® wireless module enables designers to take advantage of the STM32WB dual-core microcontroller (MCU) in wireless products, especially in low- to medium-volume projects.
 
 
        With Bluetooth Low Energy 5.3 certification and a worldwide radio device license, the module supports the STM32Cube ecosystem, helping to simplify application development and speed up product development cycles.
        The STM32WB1MMC all-in-one module alleviates supply chain constraints and lead time issues, and helps avoid certification costs and certification delays in product development. STM32WB1MMC is a fully functional wireless communication reference design in an LGA package that assembles all the components needed for a wireless product on an economical PCB board. There is an internal antenna on the module as well as a matching network optimized for the internal antenna, and if you do not want to use the internal antenna, the external antenna pins are very convenient for connecting an external antenna. RF output power up to +6dBm and receive sensitivity -96dBm, combined with optimized signal routing, the STM32WB1MMC can establish reliable long-range communication with data rates up to 2Mbit/s. The module's internal switching power supply sub powers the system. The entire module is manufactured in-house, a manufacturing model that simplifies supply management and customer technical support, and ST's 10-year rolling life plan guarantees the product's long-term availability.
        The module is based on the STM32WB15 MCU with 320KB Flash and 48KB RAM. the dual-core architecture of Arm® Cortex®-M0+ and Cortex-M4 ensures excellent real-time performance for both the M0+ RF subsystem and the M4 user application. the Bluetooth 5.3 protocol stack and profile support the latest features, including ad extensions. To minimize power requirements, the MCU offers flexible power management modes, including standby and stop2 modes, extending self-powered device endurance and enabling long run times without human intervention. The module allows developers to easily use the full functionality of the STM32WB15, including a 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC), various digital interfaces and an interface.
        Like the existing STM32WB5MMG module with larger flash memory and SRAM integration, the STM32WB1MMC module and its companion B-WB1M-WPAN1 evaluation board are fully integrated into the STM32Cube environment. Therefore, developing software with this module is as easy as developing software with any of the STM32WB MCUs. The STM32CubeWB MCU package includes the hardware abstraction layer (HAL) firmware, underlying APIs, file system, and RTOS system. Because the software package is shared with other STM32WB MCUs, developers can port existing projects directly to the new module, maximizing development flexibility and speeding project completion.
