Apple Discontinued the M2 Series Chips for MacBook Notebooks in January and February of 2023

        According to The elec, Apple discontinued the M2 series chips used in MacBook notebooks in January and February of this year. During this time, Apple core packaging manufacturers (South Korea's Amkor, STATSChipPAC, etc.) received 5nm wafers of Apple's M2 chips for packaging and testing.
        Although production has resumed in March, but the output is only half of the same period last year. Information shows that this is the first time since the Apple Silicon chip went into production, suffered a temporary production stoppage.
        It is understood that due to Apple's stringent requirements and confidentiality system, the two Korean factories' production lines only serve the former, so basically, the first two months of this year are in a state of shutdown. In fact, Apple's Mac revenue fell 30 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of fiscal 2023 (October-December 2022), announced in February this year, and will also decline in the next quarter.
