The Netherlands ASML last week released Q3 earnings, net revenue rose 10% year-on-year to 5.8 billion euros, exceeding previous expectations of 5.39 billion euros; net profit of 1.701 billion euros, down 2.24% year-on-year, but performance also exceeded expectations of 1.42 billion euros.
In this quarter, ASML's gross margin of 51.8%, also higher than expected, considering that the semiconductor market has cooled in Q3 this year, such results are still very rare.
According to ASML, the company shipped 12 EUV lithography machines in Q3, the same as the previous year, but they still received 8.9 billion euros in new orders this quarter, of which EUV lithography machines accounted for 3.8 billion euros, equivalent to 26.8 billion yuan.
ASML pre-sold out of the EUV lithography also includes the next generation of High NA EUV lithography, model TWINSCAN EXE:5200, ASML stressed that in the use of EUV lithography manufacturers all placed orders for High NA EUV lithography, that is, TSMC, Samsung, Intel three companies have placed orders.
Another key message is that, in response to the latest U.S. export restrictions, ASML assessed that the impact is not significant, they are a European company, not using a lot of U.S. technology, is expected to ship in 2023 direct impact is very small.
