Cook reveals partial chip procurement in U.S. from 2024

Recently, Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed during an internal meeting with local engineering and retail employees in Germany that Apple is preparing to source some of its chip supply from a factory under construction in Arizona, USA. He also said Apple may also expand its chip supply by sourcing chips from European factories.
"We've made a decision that the chips we need are going to be purchased from a factory in Arizona that is expected to start up in 2024, so we have about two years on this, maybe less," Cook said at the meeting, according to Bloomberg, "and I'm sure in Europe, as these plans become more apparent, we'll be sourcing chips from factories in Europe as well."
Industry speculation is that the factory Cook mentioned is likely to be the one built in Arizona by Apple's exclusive chip manufacturing partner TSMC. Public reports show that TSMC's chip manufacturing plant in Arizona began construction in June 2021 at a cost of $12 billion, will be held in Phoenix, Arizona (Pheonix) in mid-December this year, the first batch of machines into the plant ceremony, is expected to reach the starting point of production in early 2024.
In addition, combined with TSMC party recently issued a statement, will consider a new second factory in Arizona. Multiple media sources indicate that TSMC will also announce its second factory investment plan in the United States in the near future, it is reported that the new factory investment scale is similar to the first project, about $12 billion.
