Global Semiconductor Sales Increased by 4.7%

The American Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) recently announced that global semiconductor sales in the second quarter of 2023 totaled US 1124.5 billion, an increase of 4.7% from the first quarter of 2023, but a decrease of 17.3% from the second quarter of 2022.Sales in June 2023 were US 441.5 billion, an increase of 1.7% sequentially.
“Although global semiconductor sales in 2023 are still behind last year's total, revenue rose for the fourth consecutive month in June and grew steadily sequentially, which makes people optimistic that the market will continue to rebound in the second half of the year,” said John Neuffer, president and CEO of SIA.
Regionally, monthly sales in the Americas (4.2%), China (3.2%), Japan (0.9%) and Europe (0.1%) increased, but Asia Pacific/all other regions (-0.5%) declined slightly.
Sales in Europe (7.6%) increased year-on-year, but fell in Japan (-3.5%), the Americas (-17.9%), Asia-Pacific/all other regions (-20.4%) and China (-24.4%)).
