According to CNBC, Vinay Gupta, director of IDC Asia Pacific Research, pointed out that the global chip shortage problem is not over yet. The Russian Ukrainian war continues to restrict the supply chain. Under the background of economic slowdown, the chip shortage problem will become more serious.
Gupta said that the Russian Ukrainian war has brought great challenges to the supply chain, and the chip supply will not increase immediately, because the production of these chips requires a lot of raw materials and gases.
Nearly half of the world's neon gas is supplied by Ukraine's inGas and cryoin companies, but with the continuation of the war between Russia and Ukraine, the global neon gas supply has basically halved.
Gupta believes that supply chain disruption and rising costs will lead to an increase in the average price of equipment, and then infrastructure suppliers will pass on to customers and consumers.
"High inflation and the expectation that the Federal Reserve will tighten monetary policy have caused a consumer led economic slowdown, especially the spending on consumer electronics, which is showing signs of recession. Coupled with the rise of global central bank interest rates, this kind of spending is further slowed down." Gupta said.
