Infineon Technologies AG and Aurora Labs (Aurora Labs) are unveiling a new set of Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions at CES 2024 to improve the long-term reliability and safety of critical automotive components such as steering, braking, airbags and more. The companies have teamed up to create a solution that leverages Aurora Labs' award-winning Line-of-Code Intelligence™ (LOCI) AI technology on Infineon's 32-bit TriCore™ AURIX™ TC4x family of microcontrollers (MCUs), enabling automakers to produce safer and more reliable vehicles that improve performance throughout the vehicle's entire performance throughout the vehicle's lifecycle.

This new solution from our two companies enables AI-driven automated processes across the entire automotive software lifecycle, promising a safer driving experience for automakers," said Zohar Fox, CEO and co-founder of Aurora Labs. The solution supports real-time monitoring and response to software failures at the MCU and ECU level, as required by WP29, and helps prevent malicious attacks and hardware security failures through application protection and over-the-air (OTA) download technology. Together with Infineon, we are using the power of AI to enable predictive safety maintenance and optimize the driving experience. Our solutions simplify software development lines of code and hardware peripheral resolution for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), enabling them to develop safer and ASIL-D compliant systems."
Thomas Schneid, senior director of software, partner and ecosystem management at Infineon Technologies, said, "As a leader in automotive semiconductors, we are very excited to take the safety of automotive predictive maintenance applications to a whole new level together with Aurora Labs. With Infineon's proven AURIX MCUs coupled with Aurora Labs' software that prevents silent data corruption and software misbehavior on the chipset, our new solution gives automakers and drivers greater peace of mind about the safety of critical automotive applications such as steering, braking, and airbags.
This new solution realizes real-time functional safety and information security with Infineon's proven AURIX TC4x family of MCUs. This family of MCUs is dedicated to next-generation electric vehicles, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), automotive electronic/electrical (E/E) architectures, and affordable AI applications.Aurora Labs implements AI- and machine learning (ML)-based functionality in the AURIX TC4x PPU (Parallel Processing Unit), a purpose-built AI gas pedal that does not interact with the OEM applications running on the CPU to share any resources.
A new predictive safety maintenance solution from Infineon and Aurora Labs is now available.
