Infineon Introduces New 7th Generation Discrete 650V TRENCHSTOP IGBTs H7 for Energy Efficient Power Applications

        Infineon Technologies AG further expands its seventh generation TRENCHSTOP™ IGBT product portfolio with the new discrete 650V IGBT7 H7. Equipped with a cutting-edge EC7 co-packaged diode, the new device features an advanced emitter control design combined with high-speed technology to meet the growing demand for environmentally friendly and efficient power solutions.The TRENCHSTOP IGBT7 H7 utilizes state-of-the-art microtrench gate technology, which provides excellent control and performance, enabling a significant reduction of losses and an increase in efficiency and power density. The semiconductor device is therefore suitable for a wide range of applications such as string inverters, energy storage systems (ESS), electric vehicle charging applications as well as conventional applications such as industrial UPS and welding.
        In a discrete package, the 650 V TRENCHSTOP IGBT7 H7 can output up to 150 A. The current rating is 40 A. The IGBT7 H7 can be used in a wide range of applications. The product family has current ratings from 40 A to 150 A and is available in four different package types: TO-247-3 HCC, TO-247-4, TO-247-3 Plus, and TO-247-4 Plus.The TO-247-3 HCC package of the TRENCHSTOP IGBT7 H7 has a high creepage distance.The 4-pin package of the TO-247 ( Standard package: IKZA, Plus package: IKY) excels in improving performance because it not only reduces switching losses, but also offers additional benefits such as lower voltage overshoot, minimal conduction losses and lowest reverse recovery losses. With these features, the TRENCHSTOP IGBT7 H7 simplifies design and minimizes the need for parallel devices.
        In addition, the 650 V TRENCHSTOP IGBT7 H7 has excellent moisture resistance for reliable operation in harsh environments. The device has passed the relevant JEDEC 47/20/22 tests, in particular the HV-H3TRB, which complies with industrial application standards and is therefore ideal for outdoor applications.The IGBTs are designed to meet the needs of environmentally friendly as well as energy-efficient applications, and represent a significant improvement over their predecessors. The TRENCHSTOP IGBT7 H7 is therefore the ideal complement to the NPC1 topology commonly used in solar and energy storage systems, for example.
