Infineon's new ISOFACE ™ digital isolator portfolio delivers robust high voltage isolation, superior efficiency and leading noise immunity

        Digital isolators are the first choice for many modern designs due to their optimized system bill of materials (BOM), smaller PCB footprint, precise timing characteristics and low power consumption. In addition, digital isolators feature higher common-mode transient immunity (CMTI), certified insulation life, integrated functions and output enable options. In response to the growing market demand for robust high voltage isolation products, Infineon Technologies AG (FSE code: IFX/OTCQX code: IFNNY) has introduced the first generation of ISOFACE ™ dual-channel digital isolators, a new device capable of Pin compatibility with other suppliers' product portfolios.
        The newly launched ISOFACE dual-channel digital isolator further expands Infineon's isolation portfolio for a wide range of applications including servers, communications and industrial SMPS, industrial automation systems, motor control and drive, energy storage systems and solar inverters. This new advanced IC uses Infineon's own patented coreless transformer (CT) isolation technology, leveraging Infineon's more than 20 years of expertise and technical expertise to help customers reduce system costs, simplify design processes, and accelerate time-to-market. This comprehensive product family offers multiple channel configurations, default fail-safe outputs, variable or fixed input thresholds, and output configurations to meet the needs of different applications.
        
The ISOFACE dual-channel digital isolator family offers two data channels in a narrow-body DSO-8 package that supports data transfer rates up to 40 Mbps and ensures signal integrity across a wide operating temperature and production range. Infineon's powerful CT technology enables CMTI to exceed 100 kV/μs, ensuring high immunity to system noise. The digital isolator family can withstand isolation voltages up to 3000 VRMS, allowing the system to operate reliably in noisy environments with predictable data communication capabilities.
        The device's architecture helps create a simple, high-power density design that enables low power consumption and precise timing to improve system efficiency. Users can choose between high and low default output states. In addition, the device integrates fault filtering, communication modulation, monitoring, undervoltage locking (UVLO), and more, enabling robust fail-safe data transmission even in extreme industrial environments with high voltage and noise. This family of products has also achieved isolation levels up to the most stringent device standards such as UL-1577 and IEC 60747-17 (VDE 0884-17), and has obtained system certifications such as IEC 62368-1.
