Intel announces important progress in IFS foundry business: "1.8nm" process partnership

        Intel announced a strategic cooperation with MediaTek, which will use Intel 16 process to produce a series of chips. Considering the position of MediaTek, this is a milestone for Intel's IFS OEM department.
 
 
        At today's financial report meeting, Intel also revealed the situation of IFS business. The company said that IFs OEM business hopes to create a geographically balanced, safe and flexible semiconductor supply chain and promote customers' interest in Intel's chip technology. 
        In addition to the announced cooperation between MediaTek, Intel mentioned that six of the top 10 chip design companies in the world are cooperating with intlel. 
        More importantly, these companies cooperate in many processes, including the most advanced 18a process in Intel's Roadmap, which is equivalent to the 1.8nm process of friends. It is expected to be mass produced in the second half of 2024, and is likely to surpass the 2nm process of TSMC and Samsung. 
        Intel hasn't announced who the six chip companies they talked about cooperating with are. MediaTek and its associated Ruiyu electronics have negotiated. Among TOP10 chip design companies, except AMD, Qualcomm, Broadcom, Marvell, etc. are likely to use Intel OEM, and even NVIDIA has expressed interest before.
        According to Intel, now more than 30 companies have cooperated with them in chip testing. There are a total of more than 10 cooperation opportunities in the production and package testing stages, with a potential market value of more than $6billion.
