Intel to set up semiconductor chip manufacturing plant in India

        on September 7th, according to the Indian Minister of Roads and Transportation, Intel will set up a semiconductor chip manufacturing plant in India.
        at the end of last year, the Indian government announced a $10 billion incentive plan to provide incentives of up to 50% of the project cost to attract display and semiconductor manufacturers to set up bases in India.
        In addition, it was reported in April that India was negotiating with chipmakers Intel, GlobalFoundries and TSMC, hoping they would build a local semiconductor factory in India.
        It is worth mentioning that Tower Semiconductor, an Israeli chipmaker previously acquired by Intel for $5.4 billion, is also actively discussing with the government to set up a manufacturing plant in India.
        In February, Intel announced a $5.4 billion acquisition of Israeli chipmaker Tower Semiconductor to gain more s pecialized production capacity. The acquisition will strengthen Intel's position in the global foundry industry. 
        Analysts see the acquisition as a good buy, as Tower is a foundry with mature processes, and this area is expected to be tight in the next few years.
        Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger said Intel and Tower's technologies are complementary, and the foundry market is currently worth $100 billion and is expected to grow dramatically by 2030.
