        On June 5, according to the Taiwan Economic Daily, the industry reported that TSMC is fully committed to sprinting the next generation process technology, and has recently begun preparatory work for the 2nm pilot run, which will be matched with the introduction of the most advanced AI system to save energy and reduce carbon and accelerate the pilot run. It is expected that major manufacturers such as Apple and Nvidia will be TSMC's first customers after 2nm production, and expand the gap with competitors such as Samsung and Intel.
        TSMC said it would not comment on relevant rumors, stressing that research and development of 2nm technology is progressing smoothly and is expected to be mass-produced in 2025. According to the sources, TSMC has also begun sending engineers to Zhuke R&D plant to prepare for pre-production preparations for 2nm trial production. It is expected to convene an R&D team of more than 1,000 people to lead the world in mass production of 2nm at Zhuke Baoshan Wafer 20 Factory. Public information shows that TSMC's most advanced 2nm production base in the future will first be located at Zhuke Baoshan Wafer 20 Factory. The plant is planned for the fourth phase, and will be expanded to Zhongke in the future, with a total of six phases of projects.
        According to industry, TSMC will first establish a small pilot production line in Bamboo in the early stages of 2nm R&D. The goal is to pilot nearly 1,000 pieces this year. After the successful pilot run, it will be introduced into the subsequent construction of Bamboo Baoshan Wafer 20 Factory, which will be built by the factory. The team relayed the 2024 risk pilot run and 2025 mass production target.
        It is reported that TSMC 2nm will adopt a new GAA transistor architecture for the first time. TSMC previously pointed out in the technical forum that the overall system performance of related new technologies is greatly improved compared to 3nm, and the customer base's willingness to invest in cooperative development in the early stage is much higher than that of the 3nm family, and more meta-solutions can be tailored.
        It is reported that TSMC has previously released the 2nm family process blueprint plan, of which N2 will be mass-produced in 2025, and the rear rail design will be tailored for high-speed computing (HPC) products, which will be launched in the second half of 2025; in addition, the 2nm family N2P and N2X are expected to launch in 2026.
        Huang Renxun, CEO of Nvidia, has previously publicly pointed out that TSMC will introduce the AI system that Nvidia and other partners have cooperated with for nearly four years into the 2nm pilot operation. It is expected to start in June. Not only does computing time take only about 40%, it also further improves cycle times and mass production schedules, while reducing the carbon footprint of manufacturing and preparing for 2nm and even more advanced processes.
