Kioxia Launched Next Generation UFS Ver. 4.0 Device

        Continuing to advance Universal Flash Storage technology[1] (UFS), Kioxia Corporation, a leading global provider of storage solutions, today announced the availability of a new generation of high-performance UFS Ver. 4.0 embedded flash storage devices, which are now in prototype production[2]. These devices are available in small packages that deliver fast internal storage transfer speeds and are optimized for a variety of next-generation mobile applications, including the most advanced smartphones.Kioxia UFS products bring more efficient performance, enabling these applications to take full advantage of the benefits of 5G connectivity, resulting in faster download speeds, reduced latency, and an improved user experience.
        The UFS Ver. 4.0 device from Kioxia integrates the company's innovative BiCS FLASH
3D flash memory and controller in a JEDEC-compliant package. Featuring MIPI M-PHY 5.0 and UniPro 2.0 technologies, the device supports theoretical interface speeds of up to 23.2GB/s per lane or 46.4GB/s per device. In addition, UFS 4.0 is backward compatible with UFS 3.1.
