ONSEMI (NASDAQ: ON), a leader in intelligent power and intelligent sensing technologies, announced that it has renewed its long-term supply agreement with Li Auto, a luxury smart electric vehicle brand. Li Auto will utilize ON's proven 8-megapixel image sensors in its add-on electric vehicles (EREVs).
With this agreement, Ideal Auto will utilize ON's high-performance EliteSiC 1200 V bare die in its next-generation 800V high-voltage all-electric models and will continue to integrate ON's 8-megapixel high-performance image sensors in its future models. The collaboration between the two companies will accelerate vehicle electrification and enhance driving safety.

ON Semiconductor's EliteSiC 1200 V products enable more energy-efficient, lighter-weight designs that help increase range and accelerate charging, while the bare chip allows customers to differentiate the package design based on application-specific needs, and the 8-megapixel image sensors enhance the system's intelligent sensing capabilities, enabling safer Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and moving toward L3/L4-level autonomous driving systems. RISO said ON Semiconductor empowers a more sustainable future with smart power and smart sensing technologies, which are key elements in realizing our vision of 'Creating Mobile Homes, Creating Happy Homes,'" said Ideal Automotive. We aim to form a product layout that develops both extended-range electric vehicles and high-voltage pure electric vehicles by 2025, and a stable and reliable SiC supply chain is critical in the process of converting to 800V high-voltage.
ON Semiconductor has a vertically integrated end-to-end SiC supply chain and scalable production capacity, and has full control of the entire SiC manufacturing process, which provides us with long-term supply assurance and the latest technology to ensure the high quality and reliability of our products. Our longstanding collaboration on sensors and successful validation on existing add-on electric vehicles (EREVs) gives us confidence in ON Semiconductor. We will continue our relationship with the adoption of EliteSiC products and the continued integration of 8 megapixel sensors in the next generation of vehicles."
David Chow, senior vice president of sales, Asia Pacific, ON Semiconductor, said, "With our high-performance automotive-grade products, innovative technology and reliable application support, we will work with Ideal Vehicles to drive the realization and implementation of smarter electric vehicles."
