Renesa Electronics, the global semiconductor solution provider, today announced that it will launch the first development kit that supports the new Matter protocol, and also announced that it will launch all Wi Fi and low-power Bluetooth in the future ® (BLE), IEEE 802.15.4, and recently acquired Dialog Semiconductor and Celeno Communications products.
The Matter protocol securely and steadily connects various types of intelligent devices from different manufacturers in the entire ecosystem, which is expected to solve the interoperability problem of smart home devices. As an application layer protocol, it abstractly encapsulates the underlying connection technologies such as Wi Fi, Thread and low-power Bluetooth. With the help of a common software stack, device manufacturers that use the Matter protocol to build products will support various smart home ecosystems and voice services. Smart home users will also be able to purchase any device certified by Matter, regardless of the platform.

Renesa is a member of the Connectivity Standards Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the "Alliance"). The Alliance is a global organization that creates IoT standards and certification. Chris LaPre, the technical director of the Alliance, said: "We are glad to see that outstanding developers in the Internet of Things industry such as Rexa are committed to supporting the Matter standard. This again shows that the standard is showing a positive momentum of development at the level of equipment manufacturers and component manufacturers."
Sean McGrath, Vice President of Connection and Audio Business Department of Renesa's Internet of Things and Infrastructure Business Headquarters, said: "As an excellent supplier of embedded processing, connectivity is a key part of Renesa's Internet of Things solutions. With our extensive Bluetooth and Wi Fi solutions, as well as the Thread products under development, we are ready to make full use of the advantages of the Matter standard in various applications that we cooperate with customers around the world."
Reza has more than 10 years of experience in low-power Bluetooth and Wi Fi technology. With the shipment of more than 600 million wireless devices, Renesa has built a wide range of wireless connection system level chips for the Internet of Things, wearables and home networks. Its development tools for Matter are very easy to use, which will help IoT equipment manufacturers looking to integrate their products into the Matter ecosystem to enter the market faster.
