According to China Taiwan Economic Daily, due to inflation and other factors leading to rising costs, the industry rumors that TSMC's offer for each process next year will rise at least 3%, and the mature process may rise 6%.
In response, however, TSMC responded yesterday, saying it would not comment on related pricing issues.
At present, the semiconductor market remains in great demand, and related companies are still actively investing more in expanding their business areas and developing more advanced technologies. It is worth mentioning that in July this year, TSMC achieved revenue of NT$186.7 billion (equivalent to approximately RMB42.37 billion), up 49.9% year-on-year and 6.2% sequentially. From January to July this year, TSMC's revenue totalled NT$1.21 trillion, an increase of 41.1% year-on-year.
Recently, the media reported that TSMC's N3E process yield exceeded expectations, with the yield of N3E SRAM significantly higher than that of N3, where the average yield of 256Mb SRAM was approximately 80%.
It is understood that TSMC's N3E process is an enhanced version of the N3 process. Related information shows that although the number of transistors in N3E is about 8% lower than the first generation 3nm process, it is still about 60% higher than the 5nm process and reduces the 4-layer EUV photomask, making it an important node for TSMC to have more cost and production efficiency advantages. At present, TSMC's N3 process is expected to start ramping up significantly in the second half of the third quarter of this year, with the fourth quarter's monthly throughput reaching thousands of pieces and entering the mass production stage.
