According to Taiwan's Economic Daily News, there is news that the wafer foundry company Worldcore has received an order from Intel, and its AI chips will be processed and submitted by Worldcore for it. In addition to the already released Gaudi 2, Intel will subsequently launch more AI chips, all by the world core foundry.

Intel's Habana Gaudi 2 AI processor was released back in May 2022, using a 7nm process. On July 11, 2023, Intel officially launched a "customized version" for the Chinese market, which is not subject to U.S. export control measures.
According to tests released by third-party organization MLPerf, Gaudi 2 outperforms NVIDIA A100 in computer vision (ResNet-50) and natural language processing (BERT fine-tuning), and is virtually indistinguishable from H100 in computer vision. The chip has already been adopted by server giants such as Wave, Xinhua San and Hyperfusion.
Sources said Intel is building more AI chip products, and will launch Gaudi 3 chip and Goya AI inference chip in the future, all of which are OEM by Worldcore, which will help the company's revenue. In addition to Intel, Worldcore also got orders from Amazon AWS.
High-performance computing (HPC) applications have accounted for more than 80% of Worldcore's business steadily in recent years. Since AI and HPC related chips often need to utilize advanced processes for production, the pitch price is higher and brings higher revenue contribution.
Shih Hsien 2023's consolidated revenue for the first half of the year amounted to NT$13.645 billion, an annual increase of up to 1.44 times.
In addition to foundry 7nm chips for Intel, Worldcore is also seeking orders from U.S. customers for new-generation 5nm process chips. In order to diversify the layout, Worldcore is also actively discussing cooperation with other large-scale cloud service providers in North America.
The company expects that the revenue of Worldcore this year is expected to grow quarter by quarter, and the annual performance is expected to exceed 800 million dollars for the first time, with an annual growth rate of more than 70%, and next year's revenue is expected to exceed 1 billion dollars.
