Samsung announced the next generation of storage technology! Two enterprise-class SSDs have entered mass production.
Samsung Electronics recently announced its latest financial results and a series of storage technologies at the global Flash Memory Summit (FMS).

Samsung announced that it will launch the next generation of "petabyte-class" storage, a new solution that will allow a single server unit to pack more than 1 PB of storage space, enabling a significant increase in storage capacity with a minimum number of servers in the same footprint, and high server utilization also helps reduce power consumption.
Samsung has introduced the "Memory-Semantic SSD", which combines the benefits of storage and DRAM. Leveraging Compute Express Link (CXL) interconnect technology and built-in DRAM cache, the Memory-Semantic SSD can be used in AI and ML applications can improve random read and latency performance by up to 20x with targeted optimizations, making it ideal for smaller data sets that increasingly require fast processing.
Samsung introduced its telemetry technology, which is becoming increasingly important for managing these storage drives with the highest reliability as SSDs become more widely adopted in data centers. Samsung telemetry technology collects readable metadata from critical components within customer SSDs to detect and prevent any potential problems in advance.
In addition, Samsung introduced important product updates to its mobile storage and high-performance SSD milestones. The industry's first UFS 4.0 mobile storage, developed by Samsung in May, is scheduled to enter mass production this month. The new UFS 4.0 will be a key component of flagship smartphones.
Samsung also introduced two enterprise-class SSDs, the PM1743, the industry's first PCIe 5.0 SSD, and the PM1653, the first 24G SAS SSD, both of which are now in volume production.
