        Samsung Electronics, the world's largest manufacturer of memory chips, is developing the next generation of custom memory chips for large-scale AI applications such as ChatGPT. Affected by the decline in demand for consumer electronics products, the global memory chip market has not been optimistic since the second half of last year. Shipments and prices have both declined, and the performance of Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, the two largest memory chip manufacturers, has also been affected. SamsungElectronics' storage business revenue fell sharply year-on-year in the third and fourth quarters of last year, and the operating profit of its equipment solutions division fell even more significantly. SK hynix revenue and profit in the second half of last year also fell sharply. The fourth quarter had a net loss of 3.52 trillion won.
        Judging from previous reports by foreign media, the ChatGPT fire has indeed brought new opportunities for the development of memory chips for Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. Foreign media reported last week that since the beginning of this year, orders for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) from Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix have increased significantly. At that time, foreign media also mentioned that compared with other DRAMs, high-bandwidth memory with multiple vertically connected DRAMs has significantly improved performance, but it also has a higher price, at least three times that of DRAM.
