Reza Electronics (TSE: 6723), a global semiconductor solution provider, announced today that it would cooperate with AMD to display a complete RF front-end solution for 5G active antenna system (AAS) radio. The new RF front-end is matched with the field-proven AMD Zynq UltraScale+RFSoC digital front-end OpenRAN radio (O-RU) reference design, including RF switches, low-noise amplifiers, and front-end drivers, providing a complete set of solutions to meet the growing demand of mobile network infrastructure market. The reference platform will be displayed at the AMD booth (Hall 2, Booth # 2M61) of the World Mobile Communication Conference held in Barcelona, Spain, from February 27 to March 2.
The new 5G design platform integrates all the basic RF and digital front-end hardware of the base station running in the open wireless access network (O-RAN) ecosystem, including a high isolation multi-throw DPD (digital predistortion) switch, a high gain and linearity front-end driver with compact packaging, an integrated switch, and a low noise amplifier (LNA) with input signal coupling function. This complete RF front-end platform is designed to efficiently process and transmit data to the wireless network at an optimized power level. In addition, it is also integrated with the AMD RFSoC DFE ZCU670 evaluation suite for rapid prototyping and rapid development of wireless network systems. This platform brings excellent RF performance, while minimizing DPD resources for TX channel linearization, improving radio efficiency and ultimately reducing the operating costs of wireless network providers.

This RF front-end solution is the latest 5G solution jointly developed by Reza and AMD. Previously, the two companies cooperated to develop a high-performance RF timing solution for 5G next-generation radio (5G NR). The solution included the system synchronizer that Reisa supports IEEE1588 as part of the DFE ZCU670 evaluation suite.
Reza Electronic RF Communication Naveen Yanduru, Vice President of Industry and Communications Division, said: "Reisa is honored to work with AMD again to show our latest RF technology at the upcoming World Mobile Communication Conference. Through our turnkey hardware solution, the developers of 5G RF wireless infrastructure system can reduce the development time and cost. We believe that this solution will set a new standard for RF performance and efficiency in the wireless communication market."
Brendan Farley, vice president of AMD wireless engineering enterprise, said: "ZCU670 evaluation of on-board RFMC expansion connector enables our users to quickly build prototypes for their radio solutions and evaluate the complete RF circuit design. To prove this, we once again worked with Ruisa to develop an optimized RF front-end reference design for the N78 frequency band. With OpenRAN 5G radio (O-RU) With the continuous growth of the market, these reference designs will help shorten the time to market of our common users' products with mature solutions. "
