The fourth quarter of 2022 should have been the consumer electronics "peak season", but the epidemic, high inflation and other factors under the impact of consumer electronics market demand continued to sag, oversupply, "peak season is difficult to prosper" situation is obvious. Affected by this, the semiconductor industry into the "cold winter".
But unexpectedly, "winter" under the semiconductor market recently rumors of price increases.

Recently, the media reported that AMD has issued a price increase letter to customers, from January 8, 2023, AMD will increase the price of Celeris FPGA products. Among them, Spartan 6 series will increase the price by 25%, Versal series will not increase the price, the remaining other products are increased by 8%.
Earlier this year, AMD through the all-stock transaction (all-stock transaction) to complete the acquisition of Ceres.
AMD said that in the past two years, the company has experienced a period of turbulence caused by a number of force majeure and other factors, the supply chain is facing a number of challenges. The decision to increase the price of Xilinx FPGA chips was made due to the rising cost of the supply chain and increased investment.
According to the news of "Science and Technology Board Daily", a Ceres distributor source confirmed the rumors of price increase, which said that Ceres FPGA products will increase the price by 8%.
In addition to AMD, in July this year, the media reported the news of Intel FPGA price increase. An Intel PSG business line products to customers letter shows that, due to supply chain cost pressure and continued strong demand, Intel intends to increase the price of some FPGA products, involving Arria, MAX, Stratix, Cyclone and other product lines, the new product price increase of 10%, the old product price increase of 20%.
