SK Hynix began to ship LPDDR5X chips, the first mobile DRAM based on HKMG in the industry

        On November 10, SK Hynix said on November 9 that it had completed the development of a low-power dual data rate LPDDR5X chip based on high k metal gate (HKMG) technology and started selling it. It is reported that this chip is the first mobile DRAM based on HKMG innovation in the industry.
 
 
        This is the first time SK Hynix has adopted the HKMG process on the mobile DRAM, achieving an operating speed of 8.5Gbps 33% higher than the previous generation, and significantly reducing power consumption. 
        It was learned that the power consumption of the new generation LPDDR5X chip was 25% lower than that of the previous generation, meeting the ultra-low voltage range of 1.01V to 1.12V set by JEDEC, which can achieve the highest power efficiency in the industry and save more power.
         As far as mobile chip is concerned, power consumption is the most important consideration. After all, the battery life of mobile phones is limited at present, so in order to prolong their service life as much as possible, major manufacturers are trying to ensure the performance and reduce their power consumption as much as possible.
