The first Intel 16 process MediaTek confirmed that these two types of chips are manufactured by Intel

In the global semiconductor OEM market, the mainstream choice is TSMC, Samsung, liandian, SMIC international and other companies. Intel has a low share in these fields, but a few days ago they reached a cooperation with MediaTek, which will launch the customized Intel 16 process. This cooperation shocked the industry.
According to the details of the cooperation between MediaTek and Intel, Intel also specially developed a new "Intel 16" process for MediaTek, that is, Intel 16nm, which is improved based on 22nm FFL. This is a very mature process.
MediaTek's 16nm chip is expected to start mass production in early 2023. Before that, the two sides did not announce the specific OEM products of Intel 16 process. At today's financial report meeting, MediaTek CEO Cai Lixing confirmed some details, saying that digital TV and mature WiFi chips will be handed over to Intel OEM.
Considering that these two types of chips do not need the most advanced technology, Intel 16 technology can already meet the demand. This result is not surprising.
In addition, Cai Lixing, CEO of MediaTek, also reassured TSMC that it would continue to maintain a close cooperative relationship with TSMC in the advanced process.
However, previous news showed that Intel's advanced technology, such as Intel 3, will also be mass produced next year, and MediaTek will also use this generation of technology, which is that Intel really competes with TSMC.
