Toshiba announces the launch of the TB67S549FTG, a new member of its stepper motor driver electronic component product line. This is a stepper motor driver IC in a small package with built-in constant current control function that eliminates the need for external circuit components. The new driver electronic component helps save board space and is suitable for industrial equipment such as office automation and financial equipment. The product began shipping today.
The TB67S549FTG has an output power transistor using Toshiba's DMOS FET[1], an absolute maximum rated motor output voltage of 40V, and an absolute maximum rated motor output current of 1.5A[2]. The product is available in a QFN24 package, which reduces the mounting area by about 36% compared to Toshiba's current product, the TB67S539FTG, which is available in a QFN32 package. This helps save board space.
In addition, this new driver has a built-in current detection component required for constant-current motor control, and the charge pump circuit eliminates the need for external capacitors. This will reduce external circuit components and thus save board space.
The TB67S549FTG supports motor supply voltages from 4.5V to 33V and has a current consumption of 1μA in sleep mode, making it suitable for a wide range of 12V/24V supply applications.
Toshiba will continue to develop products for a wide range of applications, providing total solutions that help simplify user design, save board area, and reduce total cost of ownership.
