Transphorm Partners with Allegro MicroSystems to Improve GaN Power System Performance in High Power Applications

        Transphorm, Inc. (Nasdaq: TGAN), a leading global supplier of gallium nitride (GaN) power semiconductors, announced that it has partnered with Allegro MicroSystems, Inc. (Allegro) (Nasdaq: ALGM), a global leader in power and sensing semiconductor technologies for motion control and energy-efficient systems. (Allegro) (Nasdaq: ALGM), a global leader in power and sensing semiconductor technologies for power supply and sensing systems, has partnered with Transphorm to expand its GaN power system design for high-power applications using Transphorm's SuperGaN® field effect transistors and Allegro's AHV85110 isolated gate drivers.
 
 
        Transphorm's SuperGaN FETs are available in a variety of topologies and can be offered in multiple package formats to support a wide range of power stages for different end-market applications.SuperGaN FETs have been used in a wide range of commercial products and have provided significant improvements in reliability, power density and efficiency in high-power systems.
        Allegro's self-powered, single-channel isolated gate driver ICs are optimized to drive GaN FETs in a wide range of applications and circuits. The AHV85110 has been verified to offer a 50% improvement in drive efficiency compared to comparable gate drivers from friendly vendors. This unique solution greatly simplifies system design by reducing circuit disturbances by a factor of 10 and common mode capacitance by a factor of 15 compared to other solutions on the market.

        Interested users can test this collaborative solution from Transphorm and Allegro using Allegro's APEK85110KNH-06-T evaluation board. The board integrates the AHV85110 driver for various applications and three of Transphorm's recently released devices in TOLL packages with on-resistance of 35, 50 and 72 milliohms.
