TSMC 2nm chip will be trial produced

        According to relevant media reports, TSMC has recently begun to prepare for the trial production of 2nm products for Apple and Nvidia. Apple's 2nm process product may be A18. The 2 nanometer chip will adopt the N2 platform, introduce the GAAFET nanosheet architecture and crystal back power supply technology. Through a series of technical solutions, the transistor transmission efficiency and computational efficiency can be improved, and power consumption can be reduced. In order to promote the development of the 2-nanometer process, TSMC plans to dispatch approximately 1000 research and development personnel to a fab called "Fab 20" located in Zhuke.
 
 
        TSMC's 2-nanometer technology has increased the speed by 10-15% compared to the previous generation's 3-nanometer process at the same power consumption. At the same speed, the power consumption of the 2 nanometer process decreased by 25-30%. According to the current information obtained, TSMC stated that the development progress of the 2nm chip process exceeded expectations and plans to conduct trial production by the end of 2024. If everything goes smoothly, TSMC will start mass production of 2nm products in 2025.
        The 2 nanometer process is seen as a key breakthrough in the next generation semiconductor manufacturing process, which can provide higher performance and lower power consumption for chips. As leading chip manufacturers in the industry, Apple and Nvidia will benefit from TSMC's trial production of 2nm technology. This measure not only provides more advanced chip solutions for these companies, but also consolidates and enhances TSMC's leading position in the semiconductor industry.
