A few days ago, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE stock code: VSH) announced that the K857PH four-quadrant silicon PIN photodiode won the "Sensor Technology Award" of the 2022 China IoT Innovation Award of the industry media Elecfans.

The 7th China IoT Innovation Award aims to recognize the products and technologies that have a profound impact on the Internet of Things (IoT) industry launched in the past year. The shortlisted nominations are decided by online voting, and the winners are selected by industry experts. This year, Vishay K857PH photodiode is recognized as a small-signal detector for various Internet of Things applications, including industrial automation systems, rain/sunlight sensors, laser collimation and virtual reality.
Vishay Semiconductors K857PH has high sensitivity and uses four single PIN diodes (each with a sensitive area of 1.6 mm2), which are integrated in a 4.72 mm x 4.72 mm x 0.8 mm surface-mount single package (front mount). The side of the package is opaque, eliminating the influence of stray light on the illumination of the photodiode, and has excellent signal-to-noise ratio. The device has high sensitivity, crosstalk is only 0.1%, and almost no inter-segment tolerance.
K857PH photodiode is based on epitaxial technology, with a sensitivity range of 710 nm to 1100 nm, a peak sensitivity wavelength of 950 nm, Ee=1 mW/cm2, and a wavelength of 940 nm,and a section reverse photocurrent of 11 μ AThe semi-strong angle of the device is ± 60 °, and the operating temperature is - 40 ° C to+110 ° C. K857PH meets RoHS and Vishay green standards, is halogen-free, can be stored in the workshop for 186 hours, and its humidity sensitivity level reaches J-STD-020 standard.
