Korea Circuit picks up big order to supply FC-BGA substrates to STMicroelectronics

Korea Circuit, a South Korean PCB substrate company, has picked up a large order from STMicroelectronics, for which it is supplying FC-BGA substrates, which will be used in ST's high-end automotive chips.
Korea Circuit since the production of FC-BGA substrate products, the first to get the order of Broadcom, for its stable supply. Sources said STMicroelectronics orders, accounting for about 30% of Korea Circuit's total revenue.
Although the global semiconductor market is still not out of the doldrums, but the automotive industry's demand for a ride, remain firm. Back in July 2020, Korea Circuit announced a six-year, 72 billion won FC-BGA supply contract with a major customer, which is widely believed in the industry to be Broadcom, although the company did not disclose the name of the major customer.
In September 2021, the company announced another six-year contract worth 90 billion won. Two months later, the company announced that it was spending 200 billion won to build a new FC-BGA production facility.
Despite the successful deal with STMicroelectronics, the South Korean PCB substrate maker's sales revenue fell 23% year-on-year this year.
