June 12, Taiwan's Economic Daily News, the industry rumors, driven by Nvidia to increase the amount of AI chip investment, TSMC advanced process capacity utilization rate recently increased significantly, 5nm capacity utilization rate from more than 50% to about 70% to 80%; 7nm capacity utilization rate also from the original only 30 to 40% of the low grade, gradually pulled up to about 50%.
TSMC does not comment on rumours of capacity utilisation-related developments. According to TSMC's previously disclosed data, the first quarter of this year, 5nm and 7nm process contributed a total of about 50% of the performance, is the most important source of revenue, with the two advanced process capacity utilization rate of the simultaneous increase, the legal person is optimistic that will have a considerable positive help to TSMC's subsequent revenue.

Industry sources pointed out that TSMC's 5nm process monthly production capacity of about 130,000 pieces, before the capacity utilization rate is estimated to have fallen to more than 50%, recently began to warm up, the current monthly investment volume is estimated to be more than 90,000 to more than 100,000 pieces, which translates into capacity utilization rate pulled up to about 70% to 80%, faster than the original market expectations, mainly benefited from a major customer Nvidia in response to market demand, has increased orders to TSMC, the relevant investment should In terms of 7nm process,  TSMC's capacity utilization rate is not as high as 5nm, and the supply chain believes that TSMC's 7nm capacity utilization rate may have dropped to as low as 30% to 40% in the previous months, but has now returned to around 50%.
In addition, in terms of TSMC's most advanced 3nm process, industry sources mentioned that the main major customer is still Apple, mainly producing the latest A-series processors for the upcoming high-end iPhone 15, with other customers likely to invest in tablets later.
TSMC said earlier that it expects its 3nm process to be fully loaded this year as demand for the process exceeds its supply capacity, and that it will start contributing significant revenue from the third quarter, with the N3E process in mass production in the second half of the year.
TSMC Chairman Deyin Liu is reported to have said recently that the company's results may show a little negative growth this year due to the industry inventory adjustment period, but the outlook is still very bright and it is ready for the next wave of very good growth next year.
