        the latest data released by AutoForecast Solutions (hereinafter referred to as AFS), a data forecasting company for the automotive industry, showed that due to the shortage of chips, the production of automobiles in various regions of the world decreased by about 96,700 vehicles last week. Among them, the production of 54,000 vehicles in North America, 25,000 vehicles in other parts of Asia, and only 8,200 vehicles in China.
 
 
        Auto factories around the world are currently under pressure from chip shortages, but China has largely weathered the chip crisis in the first half of this year, the agency said. The AFS predicts that as of September 25, the global auto market has reduced production by about 3.3768 million vehicles this year due to chip shortages, while the cumulative production reduction in the global auto market in the same period last year was as high as 8.934 million vehicles, almost double the amount in the same period this year. Among them, China has reduced production by 166,700 vehicles this year due to lack of core, and the cumulative production reduction in the same period last year is about 10 times that figure.
        By the end of this year, cumulative production cuts in the global auto market will climb to around 4.2 million vehicles, AFS said.
        Earlier this month that Murat Aksel, head of procurement at Volkswagen Group's board of directors, said the chip shortage will most likely not end in 2023, and Volkswagen is currently preparing for supply chain disruptions to become the norm.
