According to the report, industry insiders interpreted that Delta joined the ranks of third-generation semiconductors as a global power supply leader, although the initial investment of only 320 million NTD to set up a "preparatory office", but it is significant, highlighting the third-generation semiconductor market is highly anticipated by international manufacturers.
Delta indicated that it will first establish Anchor Base Semiconductor to enter the research and development of front-end power technology and third-generation semiconductors, as well as the production and sales of related products. In the future, Delta hopes to grasp the upstream end of the design, provide key semiconductor components, and then grasp the third-generation semiconductor application trends, and does not rule out the introduction of semiconductor-related strategic partners.
The report points out that it is understood that the initial target of anchor-based semiconductor 600-volt power supply and other products. The outside world is optimistic that due to the emerging applications such as 5G communication, electric vehicles, and high power power supply, the demand for power components' performance has increased, and gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC) still have excellent performance under high temperature and high current environment, and the world has started to pay attention to the carbon emission problem, high energy efficiency and low energy consumption of GaN and SiC have become the new generation business opportunities for the third generation semiconductor.
According to the Taiwan media "Economic Daily News" reported that Delta entered the semiconductor field, announced on June 23 to spend 320 million NTD to set up an anchor-based semiconductor preparatory office, targeting the third generation of semiconductors, and cut from the design side. In the future, Delta does not rule out the introduction of partners to join again to strengthen the strength.
