According to media reports, recently, the Dutch chip manufacturing equipment manufacturer ASM International NV ("ASM") plans to invest $324 million to establish a new U.S. headquarters in Arizona.

It is understood that ASM International will recruit 500 employees for the new plant in Scottsdale, Arizona (Scottsdale), after the company has hired more than 800 employees in the state. The company's U.S. headquarters has been in Phoenix since 1976.
Previously in August the U.S. signed a total of up to 280 billion U.S. dollars of the Chip and Science Act, the U.S. domestic chip industry to provide huge subsidies, as a way to improve U.S. competitiveness in the field of science and technology. Recently, it was reported that the U.S. will be ready to issue $100 billion worth of semiconductor subsidies.
ASM CEO Benjamin Loh said ASM is evaluating whether the company is eligible for U.S. incentives for small supply chain investments rather than large-scale manufacturing. The U.S. Department of Commerce recently opened a portal to accept proposals and will accept submissions until Feb. 1 of next year.
