New research shows that the delivery time of chips is decreasing, but the shortage problem still exists in many fields.
According to the research of Susquehanna financial group, the average delivery time in July (i.e. the time difference between semiconductor ordering and delivery) was 26.9 weeks, while the revised delivery time in June was 27 weeks. The delivery date has been shortened for three consecutive months.

Research shows that although the overall indicators have improved, the supply of power management components and microcontrollers, especially the chips required by automobile manufacturers and industrial equipment manufacturers, is still tight. For example, the delivery time of power management chips increased from 31.3 weeks last month to 32 weeks in July. In addition, the prices of some products are still rising.
Chris Rolland, an analyst at Susquehanna, mentioned in a research report that the declining demand in some areas of the semiconductor industry, especially the components used in personal computers and smart phones, has not yet been translated into the complete end of the chip shortage. "The overall delivery time is still more than twice that of the 'healthy' market." He said.
