Since 2020, the chip shortage has swept the world, the supply and demand of chips have been seriously imbalanced, and the market has fallen into a long-term shortage. The price of chips has risen collectively, and some chips have risen from tens of yuan per unit to thousands or tens of thousands of yuan, and even the price is out of stock, and it is difficult to find a single chip.

Although the global chip shortage has lasted for more than two years, the "chip shortage" has not eased, but has intensified. This unprecedented global shortage of cores has pushed small chips into the spotlight and become the focus of the world's attention. Chips are not just precision components in mobile phones, computers, and cars, but the heart of all high-tech products, and their importance is self-evident.
Goldman Sachs research shows that as many as 169 industries around the world have been affected to some extent by chip shortages. In addition to the two major fields of automobiles and electronic products, steel, concrete, air conditioners, beer, soap and other manufacturing industries are all affected. It can be said that the global chip shortage is becoming an important factor restricting the development of the global economy.
Take the automotive industry as an example. It takes more than 1,000 chips to produce an electric car, and even the most basic gasoline-powered car requires more than 100 chips. Manufacturers do not have enough chips and are forced to stop production, which has suppressed the economies of many countries. recovery. According to incomplete statistics, for the whole year of 2021, the global auto market will reduce the production of 10.5 million vehicles, and the revenue of the auto industry will lose billions of dollars.
