Infineon Technologies AG, a global semiconductor leader in power systems and IoT, has extended its existing AIROC Wi-Fi and Bluetooth portfolio with the new AIROC™ CYW43022 ultra-low power dual-band Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth® 2-in-1 product. The industry-leading performance of the CYW43022 ultra-low power architecture reduces power consumption during "deep sleep" by up to 65 percent, significantly extending battery life in applications such as smart locks, smart wearables, IP cameras and thermostats.

Some consumer devices are extremely power sensitive," said Sivaram Trikutam, vice president of Infineon Technologies' Wi-Fi product line. As a leader in Wi-Fi and IoT technology, Infineon has developed an innovative approach to maximise the battery life of these devices. By optimizing the power consumption of battery-powered IoT devices during sleep, consumers can now get a longer battery life compared to comparable solutions. The combination of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in this new solution offers lower power consumption in the industry, helping to make more devices smarter, more connected and more functional for a variety of application scenarios."
The Infineon AIROC CYW43022 ultra-low power dual-band Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3 2-in-1 product reduces the combined power consumption of the system master processing through a built-in, independent Wi-Fi network protocol processing engine with an embedded Bluetooth protocol stack. To support designs with smaller antennas or those requiring longer range coverage, the 2-in-1 has a built-in Class 1 Bluetooth power amplifier with +18 dBm transmitting power. It requires signed and certified Infineon firmware to run the firmware image authentication when booting, which protects against hacking and ensures safe use.
Infineon's AIROC wireless products include Wi-Fi chips, monolithic Bluetooth modules, low-power Bluetooth chips and two-in-one Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules with more than one billion shipments, making them ideal for IoT solutions. The portfolio includes a wide range of ultra-low power products with outstanding performance and high reliability.
