On July 11, MediaTek today released the new Dimensity 6000 series mobile chip-Dimensity 6100+, which is a 5G mobile platform for mainstream 5G devices, 6nm process, 8-core CPU, supports 100 million pixel images, 1 billion color display, etc., 5G power consumption decreased by 20%.
Chen Junhong, deputy general manager of MediaTek's wireless communications division, said: "The implementation of 5G is accelerating all over the world, more and more mainstream mobile devices support the new generation of communication connection technology, and the market demand for mobile chips is increasing.
The MediaTek Dimensity 6000 Series enables equipment manufacturers to improve end-point performance and energy efficiency, and achieve technology upgrades to maintain product advancement, while reducing costs and increasing efficiency. "The Dimensity 6100+ adopts a 6nm process, is equipped with 2 Arm Cortex-A76 cores and 6 Arm Cortex-A55 energy-efficient cores, and supports advanced imaging technology and 1 billion color display.
The Dimensity 6100+ integrates a 5G modem that supports the 3GPP Release 16 standard and supports 5G dual carrier aggregation with 140MHz bandwidth. It not only has excellent 5G connection performance, but also greatly reduces 5G communication power consumption under MediaTek's UltraSave 3.0+ 5G power saving technology , making the 5G endpoint last longer.
At present, MediaTek already has a number of series of Dimensity processors, of which the Dimensity 9000 series is specially designed for flagship smartphones and tablet computers; the Dimensity 8000 series is aimed at high-end mobile devices; the Dimensity 7000 series further enriches the high-end product lineup; the new Dimensity 6000 series will bring more high-end functions to mainstream 5G devices. MediaTek said that the 5G endpoint with the Dimensity 6100+ chip will be launched in the third quarter of 2023.
