Micron announces high-capacity 96GB DDR5-4800 RDIMM memory

        June 7 news, memory manufacturers in the first quarter of this year launched a single 48GB of non-binary memory, dual-slot can achieve 96GB, four memory slots fully inserted to achieve 192GB of memory capacity.
 
 
        Micron today announced the start of mass production of 4800MT/s 96GB high-capacity DDR5 RDIMMs, which have twice the bandwidth of DDR4 memory and are fully compliant with the requirements of fourth-generation AMD EPYC processors. 
        There are three main types of memory (DIMM) currently used in the server space -- UDIMM, RDIMM and LRDIMM. 
        RDIMM adds a register to the memory stick for transmission, which is located between the CPU and the memory particles, reducing the distance of parallel transmission and ensuring the effectiveness of parallel transmission. Due to the high register efficiency, it is easier to increase the capacity and frequency of RDIMM compared to UDIMM. 
        With next-generation memory technology, this memory enhances support for artificial intelligence (AI) and in-memory database workloads, and addresses the high cost of chip stacking while avoiding increased latency. 
        In addition, Micron 96 GB DDR5 modules support AMD-based Supermicro 8125GS systems for high-performance computing, artificial intelligence and deep learning, and industrial server workloads.
