According to foreign media reports, on Tuesday, Apple analyst Ming Kuo said that the latest investigation shows that Qualcomm has stopped developing chips based on Intel's 20A process.

Kuo said Qualcomm's decision on Intel 20A chip could have a negative impact on Intel's RibbonFET and PowerVia technologies, meaning they may not be available at the expected time next year. He also said that this means that Intel's 18A R&D and mass production will face greater uncertainty and risk.   This is because 18A is the next process after 20A, and manufacturing is expected to be more difficult. Without Qualcomm's order, Intel would have a harder time recouping its 18A investment and could be forced to delay the launch.
Earlier, foreign media reported that Intel's 18A process technology is designed to compete with TSMC's upcoming 2nm manufacturing process, which is rumored to be available in 2025. On April 12, Intel's chip foundry division (IFS) and Arm announced a multi-generation agreement that allows chip designers to build low-power system-on-chips (SoCs) based on Intel's 18A process.
According to foreign media reports, Qualcomm's discontinuation of chip development based on the Intel 20A process will put Intel at a disadvantage, making TSMC and Samsung Foundry the only viable options for producing Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Earlier, it was reported that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for the Samsung Galaxy may be manufactured using Samsung Foundry's 3GAP process, while the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be manufactured using TSMC's N3E process, as the N3E process is expected to be cheaper than the N3B process currently used to make the A17 Bionic SoC.
