Rutronik, Germany, has announced the launch of the KEMET R41B film capacitor series, which is reportedly rated at 350 VAC and up to 1,500 VDC. Under accelerated temperature and humidity testing (THB) at 85°C and 85% humidity, Rutronik found that the series was able to operate for 1,000 hours at the rated voltage, making it a next-generation solution for harsh environments and also available in halogen-free materials upon request. This makes the KEMET R41B film capacitor series a new generation solution for harsh environments, and halogen-free versions are available on request.

The KEMET R41B film capacitor series with protection class Y2/X1 is the first product on the market to flexibly combine THB class IIIB with high operating temperatures and high capacitance values with a lead space of 10 mm (minimum). In addition, this series of capacitors is made of metallized polypropylene film coated with self-extinguishing resin and has been officially certified by UL/ENEC/CQC for use in the capacitance range from 2.2nF to 1.2µF, with an upper limit of temperature resistance up to +125℃. In addition, the KEMET R41B film capacitor series also complies with the AEC-Q200 standard for the suppression of "line-to-ground" (Y-type capacitors) and "cross-the-line" (Y-type capacitors) when used in filters. X-type capacitors) when used in filters to suppress electromagnetic interference in "line-to-ground" (Y-type capacitors) and "cross-the-line" (X-type capacitors).
