ON Semiconductor Corporation (onsemi, NASDAQ: ON), a leader in smart power and smart sensing technologies, will showcase its latest image sensing technologies at Vision China (Shenzhen), China's leading machine vision exhibition, from 15 to 17 November 2022, in Hall 8, Booth 8H15.
Visitors will be able to see ON Semiconductor's XGS series of CMOS image sensors, specifically based on the XGS 5000 (5.3 megapixels 2592 x 2048 px), XGS12000 (12 megapixels 4096 x 3072 px), XGS 16000 (16 megapixels 4000 x 4000 px) and the flagship XGS 45000 ( 44.7 megapixels 8192 x 5460 px) of the X-Cube reference design, capable of running 8K video at a frame rate of 60 frames per second. These image sensors are capable of delivering multiple resolutions and 12-bit image quality at frame rates. This advanced XGS family of devices is based on an innovative 3.2 micron global shutter pixel that provides excellent image quality and consistency even at high resolutions.

ON Semiconductor will also showcase a high resolution image sensor primarily for machine vision. This 1/2" 20 megapixel image sensor has many functional features and uses proprietary technology to deliver excellent image quality under all operating conditions and high performance with very low power consumption. For applications where power consumption and/or bandwidth need to be considered, the sensor can be configured to output a variety of low resolution image formats.
Handheld barcode scanners need to be fast, reliable and have long battery life to meet the increasing expectations of worker productivity from retail shops to e-commerce warehouses. ON Semiconductor will demonstrate a barcode scanner solution that uses a new 1/8-inch VGA CMOS digital image sensor that is four times more efficient than the global shutter of ON Semiconductor's previous generation VGA image sensor. The small size and ultra-low power consumption allows it to be deployed in extremely compact vision systems.
ON Semiconductor will also be demonstrating the popular AR0234CS image sensor. This 1/2.6" 2.3 megapixel image sensor uses global shutter technology to output full resolution images at 120 frames per second and is ideally suited to the binocular stereo vision applications required to create depth measurements.
The latest generation of stacked, back-illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensors with a standard 4K 3840x2160 (16:9) resolution will also be on show. They support multiple trigger modes, multi-camera simultaneous scene switching and automated/user-controlled black level correction (BLC). One of the sensors supports linear interlaced high dynamic range ("HDR") and up to 120 dB dynamic range on HDR on-chip with up to three exposures, which can be reconfigured within the sensor to provide better image detail in scenes with significant contrast. Another sensor with an ultra-low power architecture, motion wake mode and excellent micro-light performance, ideal for applications where power consumption and/or bandwidth is a concern.
