According to the Puls Biznesu reported on July 1, Poland, Romania and the Czech Republic, including a number of countries are negotiating with Intel, hoping that Intel will build chip factories in their own territory.
Public information shows that the current expansion of Intel's map of radiation is wider. In the U.S. region mainly includes the D1X plant in Oregon and two new chip plants in Chandler, Arizona, as well as plans to build two new chip plants in Ohio and New Mexico chip plants. The European region plans to invest 17 billion euros in Germany to build a state-of-the-art semiconductor manufacturing plant; create a new R&D and design center in France; and invest in R&D, manufacturing and foundry services in Ireland, Italy, Poland and Spain.
However, Intel has recently been affected by the slow progress of the U.S. chip bill subsidies, its chip expansion plans or ripples. Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger said at the Aspen Ideas Festival panel discussion, if the U.S. Congress can not approve the "Chip Act" in the promised $ 52 billion in government subsidies for chip manufacturing, Intel may expand chip production in Europe rather than the United States.
At present, the major fabs are stepping up into the chip capacity race, countries and regions to further strengthen the security of the local semiconductor supply chain have pulled the head fabs to build plants there. Whether there will be new variables in the expansion of Intel's factory capacity in the future, we will see.
