Qorvo Semiconductor and MediaTek to launch 5G automotive platform next year, collaborate on designs to support mobile Wi-Fi 6/6E/7

        December 1 - RF solutions provider Qorvo has partnered with MediaTek to secure multiple design orders to expand its business to include mobile Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi routers and 5G / Wi-Fi automotive platforms.
 
 
        The automotive design orders are from Tier 1 suppliers and will enable 5G connectivity on automotive platforms by 2023. We have learned that Qorvo and MediaTek have optimized 5G automotive solutions to support enhanced safety and entertainment features, including telematics, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), autonomous driving, emergency calling (eCall), and in-vehicle connectivity and entertainment services. the Qorvo automotive connectivity portfolio enables integrated AECQ-certified connectivity solutions, including in-vehicle telematics to shark fin antennas.
        Qorvo has also received orders for Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 designs for a wide range of devices, including service provider gate ways and smartphones. Qorvo combines its advanced filters and Wi-Fi integrated front-end modules (iFEMs) with MediaTek's Wi-Fi system-on-chip (SoCs) to deliver end-to-end Wi-Fi solutions that increase throughput, reduce latency and improve the quality of client connectivity.
        For smartphones, Qorvo has received multiple design orders from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) using MediaTek chips across Qorvo's highly integrated portfolio of advanced cellular solutions.
        Qorvo's advanced cellular and connectivity solutions support all major wireless protocols, including Matter, BLE, Zigbee, Thread, UWB, Wi-Fi 6/6E/7, CAT-M, NB-IoT and 5G. IoT and 5G.
