Qualcomm Announced 4nm Snapdragon AR2 Gen1 Chip

        On November 17, Qualcomm announced the launch of Snapdragon AR2 Gen1, the world's first mobile chip dedicated to serving augmented reality platforms, which will unlock more stylish, high-performance AR glasses products in the future and create a new experience of real-world/metaverse hybrid space computing.
        Snapdragon AR2 Gen1 has been optimised for AR glasses terminals at the outset of design, including a 40% reduction in PCB area, but a 2.5x increase in AI performance across the platform and a 50% reduction in power consumption, even enabling AR glasses products that consume less than 1 watt to meet the needs of users who wear them for long periods of time.

        The Snapdragon AR2 platform uses a multi-sensor co-processing mechanism to reduce weight distribution on both sides of the glasses' legs; supports up to nine cameras; supports hardware acceleration; supports 6DoF (degrees of freedom); supports iris recognition, eye tracking and more.
        Snapdragon AR2 Gen1 also integrates FastConnect 7800 connectivity unit with Wi-Fi 7 support and less than 2ms communication latency between the glasses and the phone/PC host.
