Samsung Electronics Q3 Net Profit well below Expectations as Chip Business Slumps

        According to industry news, yesterday Samsung Electronics announced its Q3 earnings data this year, its chip business fell about 14%, the net profit for the entire Q3 quarter was about 9.14 trillion won ($6.451 billion) much lower than previously expected.
        From the published Q3 earnings data, sales for the quarter were 76.78 trillion won ($54.199 billion), up slightly from 73.98 trillion won in the same period last year. Total revenue in the semiconductor business was 23 trillion won ($16.1 billion), compared with the same period last year, but fell 14%, lower than previously expected.

        Samsung Electronics net profit for the Q3 quarter of this year was 9.39 trillion won ($6.628 billion), and the near profit figure for the same period in 2021 was 12.29 trillion won, which was 9.14 trillion won ($6.451 billion) for Samsung Electronics shareholders, and the same figure for the same period in 2021 was 12.06 trillion won, which was also lower than previously expected.
        The cost of sales for the entire Q3 is about 48.07 trillion won, and the data for the same period in 2021 is 42.90 trillion won. Samsung Electronics Q extreme research and development expenditure is 6.27 trillion won, compared to 5.11 trillion won in the same period last year.
The gross profit of Samsung Electronics in Q3 this year was 28.71 trillion won, compared to 31.08 trillion won in the same period in 2021, and 30.93 trillion won in the previous quarter. the entire operating profit in Q3 was 10.85 trillion won, compared to 15.82 trillion won in the same period in 2021, and 14.10 trillion won in the previous quarter of the same year.
