According to foreign media reports, the fire of ChatGPT artificial intelligence chatbot has promoted the boom in research and development and application of related products, and also promoted the development of the artificial intelligence semiconductor market, and related manufacturers will benefit from it.

Foreign media mentioned in the report that Samsung Electronics' foundry business unit will be a major beneficiary of the expansion of demand for artificial intelligence semiconductors. They have begun mass production of the next generation of artificial intelligence chips and expect to receive more orders from major customers.
According to sources, Samsung Electronics' foundry business unit has begun using the 14nm process to find the first generation Warboy chips for FuriosaAI, a fabless South Korean manufacturer focused on artificial intelligence. Warboy is an artificial intelligence processing unit. The second generation Warboy will be built by Samsung Electronics using the 5nm process in the first half of next year, and the performance will also be significantly improved.
According to foreign media reports, the NPU is specially designed for artificial intelligence applications, which can make up for the lack of high energy consumption and high price of the GPU used in the current artificial intelligence platform. The price and energy consumption are only one-sixth to one-fifth of the GPU, and the speed is ten times that of the GPU.
Foreign media mentioned in the report that, in addition to FuriosaAI order, Rebellions, another South Korean start-up company focusing on AI semiconductor design, will also use Samsung Electronics' 5nm process process to manufacture the chips they designed. Of course, it is not only Samsung Electronics that benefits from the increased demand for artificial intelligence applications, but TSMC, the world's largest foundry, is also a beneficiary. Foreign media mentioned in the report that they are using 7nm and 4nm process processes to foundry A100 and H100 GPUs for major customers Nvidia, and AMD is also increasing GPU foundry orders for TSMC.
