Semiconductor analyst Dylan Patel said STMicroelectronics will enter the 10nm process in the future, but considering that the mentioned fab will not be able to produce 18nm process at full capacity until 2026, the specific time to achieve the 10nm process may be later.

The person said that STMicroelectronics will produce 50,000 wafers per month 18nm FDSOI, and then will move to the next node, using 10nm process, the STMicroelectronics fab will be produced in cooperation with GlobalFoundries.
We understand that in July this year, STMicroelectronics and GlobalFoundries announced a €5.7 billion investment to build a new semiconductor fab in France. Located near ST's existing 12-inch 300mm wafer fab in Crolles, France, the new facility will employ 1,000 people and will receive significant financial support from the French government. Full production is targeted by 2026, when annual capacity will reach 620,000 300mm wafers.
ST's net revenue for the third quarter of this year was $4.32 billion, with a gross margin of 47.6%, an operating margin of 29.4% and a net profit of $1.10 billion. In terms of business outlook, ST's guidance for the fourth quarter of 2022 (median) is: net revenue is expected to be $4.40 billion, up approximately 1.8% sequentially, with a gross margin of approximately 47.3%.
